about

J:D is Julie Hill & Daniel Saa. Julie sings and writes the songs, and Daniel Saa produces, records, and plays all the instruments. They met through Berklee College of Music in 2009, but didn't start recording this album until 2013.

After finishing recording in Spring 2014, Daniel joined Los Amigos Invisibles (www.amigosinvisibles.com) as their lead guitarist. He continues to tour with them, while Julie pursues her career as a teacher, currently working with Global Music Institute in New Delhi, India (globalmusicinstitute.in).

The album art is a painting named "Drowned" by Daniel's friend Hermann Meija (www.hermannmejia.com). Hermann and Daniel met in Venezuela before Hermann moved to the US as an illustrator for MAD magazine.

lyrics

If Life is a game of connect-the-dots,
We must be those dots across the page
Disconnected by a series of thoughts,
Involving involvement in a pointless love craze
Two lonely love-hungry fragments of soul,
Searching for some Life to which we can find a connection.
The only problem is; I only feel whole
When broken in the throes of your physical affection.

You make me an adult in a child's manifestation.
You're just a funny kid yourself in an adult's situation.
You ask me: "Who am I?"; I don't quite understand-
Who are you? Who do you think I am?

If Life is a game of tic-tac-toe, we must be the aimless Os
Playing where we please,
Thinking that we gird the grid of Life in Truth, although
The Truth is that we only play when played with ease.
Maybe we're too open and a loss would serve us right,
Maybe we have lost so much we both deserve a win.
The only thing I know is I have never felt delight
That parallels the petrifying place you put me in.

You make me an adult in a child's manifestation.
You're just a funny kid yourself in an adult's situation.
You ask me: "Who am I?"; I don't quite understand-
Who are you? Who do you think I am?

I think the whole idea of love is a mind-game that we play quite well.
If we were picking teams the only thing I'd ask of you is- please be on my side,
Cause lately I feel like I'm running up against myself.
I'm falling fast, flying face-forward but you won't catch me in the rye.

You make me an adult in a child's manifestation.
You're just a funny kid yourself in an adult's situation.
You ask me: "Who am I?"; I don't quite understand-
Who are you? Who do you think I am?
